The last FEAPA Congress and Founding Congress of the European Society for Paediatric Anaesthesiology, hosted in the Hilton Convention Centre in Warsaw, in September 2009 was attended by almost 400 delegates and altogether 42 countries were represented. The exhibition, located centrally within the venue, presented full range of modern anaesthetic equipment and pharmacology. Those who attended the Congress, enjoyed unique scientific programme, with highly regarded interactive session and workshops.

I and my team have been proud to be able to host this unique meeting; perhaps not the largest even, but definitely the most memorable one. In Warsaw we started the new Society and a new line of annual paediatric anaesthesia congresses. It’s my duty and privilege to thank all who came to my hometown and helped with the success of this meeting. I do hope that sometime in the future we will be able to host the Society again.
