Since Aprotinin was withdrawn from the market Tranexamic Acid (TXA) now is in the middle of our focus regarding saving blood products and decreasing the transfusion requirements in paediatric cardiac surgery or major orthopedic surgery. Nevertheless there are safety warnings in children with history of convulsions.
