Dear ESPA-members and colleagues,

 

The Annual Congress of the European Society for Paediatric Anaesthesia in 2011 was held in the beautiful warm city of Palma de Mallorca. Nearly 450 delegates from almost 20 countries inside and outside Europe attended. The meeting was characterised by a modern approach to medical congresses with more interactive sessions than ever before. New this year were the case-based discussions which proved very popular. In addition to topics in Paediatric Anaesthesia presented by world experts, there was room for generic topics, such as Quality Assurance which was a big hit with the delegates. The social events at the Belver Tower and a Manor House in the Mallorcan countryside were marvellous and very well attended.

ESPA is very pleased with the success of this congress and has learned a lot about how to make our next congress in Stresa Italy, 20th - 22nd September 2012 even better.
